| Matthew Kime was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin. He discovered photography while attending New York University. As his knowledge of photography grew, he found himself drawn to wide open spaces. Color film, a 4x5 large format camera, and long exposures became the tools of choice as he photographed the environment around him. His New York photographs helped earn him the 2002 Daniel Rosenberg Traveling Fellowship. With this support, he returned home to Wisconsin to photograph the weather and seasons. He's currently working as a freelance assistant and devising his next project.
